Remodelling a sentimental bracelet…
Anne came to me with a broken Balinese silver bracelet housing two Aquamarines. The bracelet held great sentimentality as it was a gifted to her from her Husband on their Daughter’s Wedding Day in Bali. Unfortunately the design of the bracelet meant it couldn’t be repaired. I suggested that we could free the two Aquamarines and design a new jewel, she loved this idea!
Over our brainstorming meeting we discussed a few options but decided on earrings. Jane loved the subtle Aqua colour and didn’t want them overpowered by a heavy setting, so we decided on a spectacle setting. This allowed as much light as possible to reflect through the gems bringing them to life.
It was also important to include her daughter’s September Birthstone Sapphire, as they would become her future heirloom.
Design wise I was given the freedom to create in my style. The stacking of the gemstones was a nod to the Balinese pattern on the original bracelet and the scallop edge inspired from the shell.
